Joseph Stella
Joseph Stella, born Giuseppe Michele Stella (1877-1946), was an Italian-born Futurist painter, and is also associated with the American Precisionist movement of the 1910s–1940s. He is well-known for his portraits on paper drawn in silverpoint, or silverpoint and oil, most dating from the 1920s. Many of the sketches in this collection make use of the silverpoint or metalpoint techniques.
